Not Proven, HP Trigger Cancer Radiation

It's time you knew about the dangers of HP, the goods that we often carry it everywhere, according to news agency Associated Press (AP), these findings were announced Tuesday, May 31, 2011 in Lyon, France, by the International Agency for Research on Cancer after doing some research . The agency is under the direction of the World Health Organization (WHO).
After a joint study for a full week, the scientists found a type of radiation elektronagnetik in cell phones, microwaves, and radar. According to them, there is evidence that cell phone radiation can cause two types of brain cancer. But the evidence it needs to be further investigated.
"We found some common thread, the evidence reveals to us how cancer can occur. But there are still some things that have not known and it must be ensured, "said panel member, Jonathan Samet of the University of Southern California, as published by AP, Wednesday, June 1, 2011.
Meanwhile, another panel member, said Kurt Straif, exposure to radiation is highest when the phone is used for calling. "For the use of short messages (SMS) or using a hands-free device would minimize exposure."
However, although 'likely carcinogen (cancer causing substances)' did not mean the phone automatically lead to cancer. And some scientists even believe these findings will not necessarily change people's habits.
"Whatever is possible to be carcinogens," says Donald Berry, professor of biostatistics at MD Anderson Cancer Center at the University of Texas. He was not involved in this study. "It's not something I worry about and will not stop me from using a cell phone."
Because the phones are very popular, it may be impossible for experts to compare between cell phone users who had a brain tumor in people who do not use the device but has the same disease. Moreover, according to a survey last year, the number of mobile subscribers worldwide has reached five billion, or nearly three-quarters of the global population.
The scientists who conducted an overview of the various studies that have been published previously found that "there is no indication of any risk" to public health from exposure to radio waves from mobile phones. Research carried out by an organization in England called the independent advisory group on non-ionizing radiation (AGNIR), who take shelter under the Health Protection Agency (HPA).
Professor Anthony Swerdlow, AGNIR chairman, said, "there is no convincing evidence that exposure to radio frequency to cause health problems in adults or children. But to know the risks of using mobile phones more than 15 years is still unknown, because we have little or no information at all. "
Anthony said at least information about the risks of cell phone radiation exposure beyond 15 years because most people do not use the phone until the late 1990s.
Investigators also said there was no evidence that exposure causes brain tumors, other types of cancer, or fertility or harm heart health.
"Monitoring should be done because little information is known about the long-term effects," Anthony added.
Recommendations for children
Even so, the HPA said the children still have to avoid excessive use of cell phones. HPA will continue to provide advice in the form of prevention, an approach particularly in children.
The experts explained, need further research to determine the effect of radio frequency fields on brain activity and a possible association with behavioral problems in children. Researchers are also calling for further investigation focused on the use of new technologies that emit radio frequencies, such as Wifi signal transmitter device in homes and scannerkeamanan airport.
HPA confirmed will not change its recommendation about the use of mobile phones on children.
"Since this is a relatively new technology, the HPA will continue to recommend a cautious approach," said Dr. John Cooper, director of the center of the HPA.
"The HPA recommends that the excessive use of mobile phones by children should be limited," he concluded.
